People who know me know that I am fond of saying that everyone is gifted with an especially unique talent from God. This talent is so specifically tailor-made for you, that only you can do it for a specific reason that only God will reveal in His time.
This interview with Dr Yvonne Capehart reveals that this lady has unique gifts. She shares her life experiences, which when you hear them, you understand why she had to go through those specific experiences to acquire those gifts.
It is very important that each of us discover who we are, based on where we have been, in what context, and how we handled it in open communication with the Lord.
Because once you understand your own historical context and how these experiences affected you, you will be better prepared to figure out what you are here to do.
I can tell you definitively that understanding my purpose in life has been one of the most enriching experiences that I have ever known. It was at this point that I finally found true happiness. This knowledge allowed me peace. So, pray for God to lead you in finding your own purpose in life and check out this video as a guide to how another woman did it successfully.
When I watch this video I realize that many of my experiences, predilections and dispositions are so different from Dr Yvonne Capehart’s that I could never be who she is, although I admire her greatly.
For this very reason, I really enjoy seeing the portions of her life that she chooses to share with the public. It is different than me just knowing me. This increases my knowledge base of something else that is positive, unique and wonderful. Suddenly, my world just got more colorful in a good and decent way.
The Bible is full of testimonies of believers sharing their experiences with God. I am glad today that today we are still sharing such a beneficial tradition.
If I really think about it, this sermon has influenced me probably more than any other sermon over the years. I have watched this over and over and it is amazing how what you are going through now can affect the way you see things.
Overall, I can say that it has taught me this valuable lesson: the power of praise.
In this sermon, it was the first time that I had really understood the power of worship and the strength that it releases. It is paradoxical; you almost have to go through it to really get it.
When you truly begin to walk with Jesus Christ, life can be difficult. Suddenly strange scenarios began to arise in my circumstances that had never arisen before. When these things began to occur in my life, I didn’t know what to think.. or do. This occurred some years ago and I was unprepared for it.
This sermon was so refreshing and edifying to me when these circumstances began to occur in my life. I learned that if you really praise God while under attack, you disarm the enemy. Scripture is so beautiful in its inerrancy. Because like Ephesians 6:10-18 says, I found that as my faith in God grew, that a spiritual shield about me was being formed and strengthened. Today, it is fully functional; by God’s grace and strength alone.
Now, if you are a Christian who is devoted to serving God in sincerity and in truth, you already know what I’m talking about. You have been here and understand. If you can’t identify with this situation, you should be concerned.
Remember that they crucified Jesus Christ. He is the Messiah and is flawless perfection. There will never be one more kind, loving, and righteous than Him. Think about it in relation to who we are. So, you can expect some difficulty. But our God has left us with solutions.
Consider these Scriptures to help guide you through the true nature of things.
Ephesians 6:10-18 teaches us to:
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age,against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— Ephesians 6:10-18
To be sure, as Christians, we may face difficulty here on earth. It may seem substantial, but the Word of God (Revelations 20:4-6) tells us that it is not forever.
And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. 5 But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years. -Revelations 20:4-6
